Legal Notice and Regulatory Information
This page identifies the provider of this website and of the psychology consultations offered through it, and explains how to check our registrations. It contains the information that the rules on information society services require to be permanently and easily available (Decree-Law 7/2004).
1. Provider identification

2. Our activities
IVORY carries out two activities.
- Online store. We sell clothing, accessories and gift cards at ivory-therapy.com and at physical points of sale and events. Purchases are governed by Part I of our Terms of Service.
- Online psychology consultations (the "Psychology Services"). From 1 November 2026, individual and couples consultations in Clinical Psychology will be provided exclusively at a distance, by video call, as a telemedicine unit registered with the Portuguese Health Regulatory Authority (see section 3). They are governed by Part II of our Terms of Service. Every paid item in the store, other than gift cards, includes one consultation voucher, whose conditions are in Part II.
3. Registration with the ERS and how to check it
From 1 November 2026, IVORY will be the entity responsible for the health care establishment "Ivory Therapy", a telemedicine unit that will provide psychology consultations (area of practice: Clinical Psychology) exclusively at a distance.
Registration. The entity and the establishment will be registered in the Regulated Establishments Registration System (SRER) of the Entidade Reguladora da Saúde (ERS), the Portuguese Health Regulatory Authority. The registration numbers, the registration certificate and the way to check the registration on the ERS website will be shown here once the registration has been issued. Until then, IVORY is identified by its tax number (NIPC) 516 906 739, given in section 1.
Regulator. Entidade Reguladora da Saúde, Rua S. João de Brito, 621 L32, 4100-455 Porto, www.ers.pt.
Once registered, we keep this information identical to the ERS register and update it within 30 days of any change.
Start of the Psychology Services as a registered establishment. From 1 November 2026, the psychology consultations will be provided by Ivory World, Lda. as a health establishment registered with the Portuguese Health Regulatory Authority (ERS). Until that date, IVORY does not operate as a clinic or health establishment: it only puts clients in touch with independent psychologists, who provide the sessions under their own professional responsibility.
IVORY will issue the invoices for the consultations in its own name from the start of its clinical activity on 1 November 2026, once its registration with the ERS has been issued.
4. Regulated profession
The acts of psychology are carried out only by psychologists with active registration with the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP), the Portuguese Order of Psychologists. They use the professional title "Psicólogo(a)" (psychologist), granted in Portugal, a Member State of the European Union.
They are bound by the Statute of the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses and by the Code of Ethics approved by Regulation no. 898/2024 of 14 August. Both are available at www.ordemdospsicologos.pt.
The clinical team, with each psychologist's name, professional registration number and area of practice, will be listed on our website. You can check any registration on the website of the OPP, www.ordemdospsicologos.pt.
Ivory World, Lda. is a company, not a psychologist. The company is not registered with the OPP and does not need to be, because the acts of psychology are carried out only by psychologists registered with the OPP.
Our psychologists are not registered, enrolled or authorised to practise with the authorities of other countries. For what this means for people outside Portugal, see section 5 of Part II of our Terms of Service.
5. Complaints Book and complaints
You can complain about the Store and about the Psychology Services in the Electronic Complaints Book (Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico) at www.livroreclamacoes.pt.
You can also complain by email to care@ivory-therapy.com.
Psychology Services. From 1 November 2026, complaints about the Psychology Services will be reviewed by the Clinical Director, and IVORY will send each complaint and its reply to the ERS through its complaints management system (SGREC), within the deadlines set by law. We answer every complaint in writing. You can also complain directly to the ERS through its website, www.ers.pt. Data protection questions can be taken to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD (www.cnpd.pt).
The same rules are in Part II, section 24 of our Terms of Service.
6. Alternative dispute resolution (Store purchases only)
For a consumer dispute about the purchase of products from the Store, you can use a consumer dispute resolution body: the consumer arbitration centre for the area where you live or, if none applies, the CNIACC (Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo, www.cniacc.pt). The list of bodies is at www.consumidor.gov.pt. For cross-border disputes in the European Union you can contact the European Consumer Centre Portugal (cec.consumidor.pt).
These bodies do not deal with health services, which follow the complaints route in section 5.
7. Intellectual property
The content of this website (texts, images, graphics, designs, logos, videos and software) and the brands "IVORY" and "Ivory Therapy" belong to Ivory World, Lda. or to its licensors and are protected by law.
You may view and print the content for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other use, including copying, adapting, publishing or selling, needs our prior written permission, except where the law allows it. Contact care@ivory-therapy.com to ask for permission.
8. Information published on the website and health content
The articles, guides and other content about mental health that we publish (including on our blog) are general information. They do not replace a consultation with a psychologist or another health professional, are not a diagnosis or a treatment plan, and are not written for your personal situation.
IVORY does not provide urgent or emergency care or crisis intervention. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 112 (the European emergency number) or the emergency number of the country where you are. In Portugal you can also call SNS 24 on 808 24 24 24. For other countries, see our SOS page.
We take care to keep the information accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete at all times. Nothing in this notice limits any right that the law gives you, in particular as a consumer or as a user of health services.
9. Links to other websites
Our website links to other websites, including public health services and helplines. We choose them with care, but we do not control their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on that site. Other sites have their own terms and privacy policies, so please read them. If you find a link that does not work or seems inappropriate, tell us at care@ivory-therapy.com and we will review it.
10. Applicable law, changes and language
This notice is governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection that the mandatory rules of the law of that country give you. Disputes are decided by the competent courts under the law.
We update this notice when our registrations, our team or the law change. The date of the latest version is shown at the top.
This notice is currently published in English only; Portuguese and Spanish versions will follow. Once a Portuguese version is published, it prevails in case of divergence, and information for consumers in Portugal is available in Portuguese (Law 24/96, Article 7).
